The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs & Energy of Germany (BMWi) supports this trade delegation through its Foreign Market Entry Program. Canada is one of the 10 largest light vehicle manufacturers in the world. The Canadian automotive industry is located in the heart of North America's largest vehicle manufacturing region: the Automotive Manufacturing Cluster of the Great Lakes. Five global OEMs (FCA, Ford, GM, Honda and Toyota) assemble more than 2 million vehicles each year in their 12 Canadian plants. Their production is supplied by a vibrant ecosystem of nearly 700 suppliers, including well-known local Tier 1 companies such as Magna, Linamar and Martinrea. In addition, the country is home to one of only five machine-tool die-and-mould (MTDM) clusters in the world.
With more than 100 years of history as an auto-producing nation, Canada has an outstanding track record and a well-established automotive sector that includes manufacturers and R&D experts in materials, machinery, parts and finished vehicles. Vehicles produced and used in Canada must meet increasingly stringent vehicle emission- and fuel efficiency standards. Manufacturers are therefore aiming to achieve these standards with innovative lightweight solutions. The local auto industry therefore works closely together with Canadian universities and research institutes which specialize in researching novel materials and their processing or production for building lighter vehicles.
In individually organized B2B meetings you will be able to meet potential business partners in the Windsor, London, Waterloo and Vancouver area.
One conference and several other networking formats offer you excellent networking possibilities to meet the right people and grow your business in Canada.
Several exclusive visits to companies and research institutes give you the opportunity to establish great personal connections with the local industry and learn more about the newest technology being used in the Canadian lightweight industry.
